Dr. Walter Armando Vasquez Rivas

Dr. Walter Armando Vásquez Rivas is a highly skilled Radiation Oncologist and General Surgeon with extensive experience in advanced cancer treatments. He earned his medical degree from the University of San Carlos de Guatemala and later completed his specialization in General Surgery at Hospital General San Juan de Dios in Guatemala.

He further pursued advanced training in Radiation Oncology at the Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid, where he now serves as an Attending Physician. Additionally, he holds a University Expert degree in Prostate Cancer from the Francisco de Vitoria University and a Master’s in Mastology from the International University Menéndez Pelayo.  

Dr. Vásquez specializes in cutting-edge radiotherapy techniques, including 3D conformal radiotherapy, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and brachytherapy (both low and high dose rate).
He is an active member of prestigious organizations such as ESTRO, SEOR, and ILROG, and frequently presents at international conferences on topics like prostate cancer, lymphoma, and modern radiotherapy approaches.

Beyond his clinical work, he contributes to medical research, with publications on brachytherapy, lung SBRT, and immobilization techniques.
